Movement should be a lot faster and challenging. Maps should have vertical design with lots of jump pads and elevators instead of typical flat bullshit with few corridors like in cs, where instead of expecting enemy from all directions, including up and down, you usually have just one or two corridors where they all be coming from. There should be no weapons or armor on spawn so you have to learn map control. There should be no weapons that abuse bullshit RNG. That way you have to learn and use all of them. There should be completely different weapons that have different mechanics, that are more useful in some situations and less in others. There should be no weapon limit so you have to learn to quickswap all you weapons.

I know people hate Beth, id software and modern games but this seems the best way in my opinion. If arena shooters are to survive, introducing new players this way can maybe introduce new gamers to the original arena games like Quake 3, etc. This causal playlists can allow people to play the game for a blast of fun but if they wish to move on or believe they are ready, a classic, more competitive playlist is there for them to see the other, original side of Doom (and Quake to an extent). Hack modules, demon runes and loadouts can be removed for this mode/playlist. Movement speed will be increased, strafe-jumping can be added, being able to move in the air more freely. Due to not starting with weapons, weapon damage can then be increase to make the rocket launcher much more powerful alongside other weapons if necessary. Don't pre-order or buy until it's in.Įffectively, this mode will start every player with just a pistol (maybe heavy assault rifle or standard shotgun too) and the weapons will be scattered across the map. My idea is to effectively protest for a classic arena mode/playlist for this new Doom. My idea was taking them from the new Doom coming out.
